Oct. 3, 2016 - The Charlotte Chamber is pleased to announce Printful, a print-on-demand company based out of Latvia that prints and ships print products for e-commerce retailers, has opened a regional headquarters office in Charlotte. The 100,000 square foot Charlotte facility is three times larger than Printful’s North American headquarters in Chatsworth, California. Company officials say they plan to invest $1.5 million in the move and create 200 new jobs by the end of 2018.

“We estimate that our California headquarters will max out by the end of this year,” said Davis Siksnans, Printful CEO. “Opening a new location now lets us prepare for peak season and it gives us more room to grow in 2017. Charlotte will be Printful's hub for innovation, expanding our products and services, and for planning future growth.”

Charlotte was selected based on its experienced and trained workforce, its close proximity to Printful's suppliers and printers, as well as the region’s historical ties to the textile and apparel industries. Once fully operational, the Charlotte location is expected to print approximately 70 percent of all company orders.

“Charlotte offers an ideal location for Printful's East Coast and Midwest client base,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber CEO and president. “With the many of the nation’s major metropolitan markets within a 650-mile radius of Charlotte, products can easily be transported by 24-hour truck delivery or two hours flight time.”

The Charlotte location is the first step in company’s global expansion plans. Over the next five years, they expect to open locations in other countries, including the UK and Australia.

Printful was founded in 2013 by Latvian entrepreneur Lauris Liberts. It is part of the Draugiem Group, an influential Latvian information technology company. The Draugiem Group launched the country's first social network platform in 2004, and is home to 14 other successful startups.

The Charlotte Chamber would like to thank Select USA for assistance on the project.
